DescriptionFor the first time in 2018, Chatz Connect came on board as a sponsor of the Annual Savanna Comics' Choice Awards. They took ownership of the Audience Choice Award category and to help them leverage their sponsorship, One-eyed Jack conceptualised and executed an influencer-led campaign that focused on the five nominees within the category and saw them rallying their supporters and the public to help get them to win the coveted award. The five nominees included Abuti Lolo, Teboho Theoha, PelePele Mchunu, Summary and Kwanda Radebe. In the end it was Abuti Lolo - a relative newcomer comedian hailing from Mpumalanga, who was the ultimate winner. He used all the tools in his kit to garner support from his local community and fans. With Chatz, we created and ran a robust PR, digital and Kaya FM campaign that helped the nominees to rally for votes. Nominees took to their social media channels as well to push their influence and get the word out. Huawei gifted the nominees with their latest smart phone to help them in their campaigns.
